Answers grouped by topic. If this page differs from the contract text, the terms and conditions and Dutch legal versions prevail.

Booking and payment

How do I reserve studio time?

Send an enquiry via contact, [email protected] or 020 244 8619. State the service, track count or hours, preferred period and references. Within 2 working days you receive a quote with date and price incl. VAT. The slot is firm only after written acceptance and receipt of the 30% deposit.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Bank transfer for deposit and balance; card in the studio within legal limits. Business clients may pay on invoice within 14 days when agreed in writing beforehand. IBAN and reference appear on quote and invoice.

Are prices inclusive of VAT?

Yes. All public rates on services include 21% VAT. Example: Vocal recording €89 per hour. The rate table also shows the excl. VAT amount for comparison.

Can I reschedule or cancel?

More than 7 days before start: free reschedule or cancellation; if you cancel we refund the deposit within 14 days. From 7 days down to 72 hours before start we move the deposit once to a new date within three months. Less than 72 hours or no-show: deposit remains due except in force majeure. See article 7.

From what age can I book?

From age 16 you can book and pay yourself. Younger clients need a legal guardian to contract and attend the session. Podcasts with minors are processed only with consent as described in the privacy policy and optional DPA.

During the session

How long does it take to record a vocal?

For a three- to four-minute vocal we usually plan two to four hours including warm-up and comping. Well-prepared artists with lyrics and pitch sorted often finish faster. Tips are in vocal prep.

Can I bring someone along?

One or two guests in the control room are welcome. More people on the live floor only when it fits the safety limit of 6 musicians plus visitors; discuss beforehand via contact.

Do you provide instruments?

We have a drum kit, digital piano, guitar and bass amps and headphones. We do not lend guitars or basses; use our amps or bring your own. Band load-in via the rear door: load-in guide.

What if we run over time?

Extensions only when you ask and the next slot is free. Extra time is billed per started half hour at the booked service hourly rate, incl. VAT.

When are you open?

Monday–Friday 10:00–22:00, Saturday 10:00–18:00, Sunday closed. Outside those hours we work by appointment when the quote lists an evening or weekend slot. Sunday is closed by default.

Files and delivery

What format do I receive?

24-bit WAV at 48 kHz by default, or your session sample rate. Mixing and mastering deliver as WAV; podcasts also as a consolidated WAV per recording unless agreed otherwise. We do not deliver mp3 as the only master unless you explicitly ask.

How do I receive downloads?

Via secure download link or upload to your cloud when you grant access. Large band sessions can be copied to an external drive you bring; mention that on the quote.

How long do you keep projects?

24 months after the last session or delivery for that job. Then we delete files from our servers. Back up yourself; we are not liable for loss after that period. See article 11.

How do I deliver stems for mixing?

Export per track, no processing on the master bus, clear names. Preferred formats and folder layout are in stems and formats. Unsure: send a test zip before the deadline on your quote.

How many revisions are included in mix and master?

2 revision rounds per track after the first mixdown or master. One round is one bundled list of notes. Extra rounds or new recordings are quoted as additional work. See mixing and mastering.

Rights and privacy

Who owns the recordings?

After full payment of the agreed fee, recordings we make for you are yours, to the extent the law allows. We do not claim copyright in your music. Exceptions for bespoke composed music are in the terms.

Do you use my voice to train AI?

No. We do not use client material to train machine-learning models and we do not create voice clones without written consent from the person concerned.

What happens to contact form data?

We process name, email, optional phone and message to reply and prepare a quote. FormSubmit delivers the message to our inbox. Retention and rights are in the privacy policy; cookies in the cookie policy.

Can I use your logo on my release?

Only with our written permission. You may credit Milepostvivo as the studio when factually correct, without implying endorsement.

Do I have a cooling-off period as a consumer?

Online bookings may include a statutory cooling-off period for consumers. When you request an earlier session date, Dutch consumer rules can limit withdrawal once work has started at your request. Custom work and finished sessions are covered in terms with the applicable exceptions.
